Thinking about selling your car in Indio, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, or elsewhere in the Coachella Valley? Fiesta Kia can appraise your vehicle and make an offer, even if you don’t plan to buy another vehicle from us.

You can start online, then bring your vehicle to our Indio dealership for an in-person inspection. There’s no obligation to purchase a vehicle from Fiesta Kia. If you are considering a different car, you can also explore applying your trade value toward your next vehicle.

Selling privately can mean preparing listings, fielding questions, arranging test drives, and coordinating payment. At Fiesta Kia, you can submit your vehicle details online and bring it to our dealership for a physical appraisal by a certified appraiser.

You decide whether to accept the offer. You are not required to purchase a vehicle or trade yours in as a condition of selling it.

Start with Fiesta Kia’s online vehicle value form, or contact our team with questions before you visit.

How the car-buying process works

1. Enter your vehicle information online.
The form asks for your vehicle’s year, make, model, and trim, along with details such as mileage, color, approximate loan payoff, available options, condition, and title status. Providing accurate information helps the team evaluate your vehicle using available market data.

2. Bring your vehicle in for an inspection.
An online estimate is a starting point, not a guaranteed final offer. A certified appraiser will physically inspect the vehicle and compare its actual condition and details with the information submitted. Market data can also affect the offer.

3. Review the offer and choose what works for you.
If you accept, a Fiesta Kia finance manager will process the paperwork. If you decide not to accept, you are not obligated to buy a vehicle from us.

4. Complete the paperwork and payment process.
When you have the title, payment is typically issued by check within a few business days, subject to the paperwork and vehicle details. If there is an outstanding loan, Fiesta Kia sends the check directly to your lender. Ask the finance manager how your particular payoff will be handled and what timing to expect.

What affects a vehicle offer?

A fair offer reflects the specific vehicle, not just its model year. The appraisal considers details such as mileage, equipment, overall condition, title status, payoff information, and current market data. That is why it is important to provide complete information online and have the vehicle inspected in person.

Be candid about known issues, repairs, warning lights, past damage, or title history. An accurate description helps set expectations and makes it easier to understand any difference between an online estimate and the final offer.

Describe condition honestly

Fiesta Kia’s online form outlines four general condition categories:

Excellent: Exceptional overall condition, with no visible wear or defects and no expected reconditioning.
Good: No major mechanical defects, with only minor blemishes. Some reconditioning may be needed.
Fair: Noticeable cosmetic or mechanical issues, but the vehicle is still in safe running condition.
Poor: Severe mechanical or cosmetic problems, questionable running condition, a branded title, or unverified mileage.

These are general descriptions, not a substitute for an inspection. If you are unsure which category fits, describe the vehicle as accurately as you can and let the appraiser assess it in person.

How to prepare for your appraisal

A little preparation can make your visit smoother:

Remove personal belongings and any trash from the vehicle.
Clean the interior and exterior so the appraiser can inspect them more easily.
Bring the vehicle, all available keys, and remotes.
Bring a valid state-issued photo ID, the vehicle title, and current registration.
If your vehicle has a loan, bring or have access to your lender’s information and current payoff details.
Be ready to discuss the vehicle’s condition, features, and title status.

The online form asks about options such as heated seats, a moonroof, navigation, leather, and remote start. Include equipment accurately, since the vehicle’s actual features will be checked during the appraisal.

Selling outright or trading in

If you are ready to move on from your current vehicle but do not want another one, you can ask Fiesta Kia to buy it outright. You do not have to choose a replacement vehicle.

If you do want another car, the trade-in path is simple: receive an offer, choose your next vehicle, and discuss applying the trade value toward the purchase or down payment. If there is a loan on your current vehicle, ask the finance manager to explain how the payoff affects the transaction and what happens if the offer is more or less than the payoff.

Trading in may also affect the amount subject to tax, depending on the transaction and applicable rules. Fiesta Kia’s trade-in page notes that tax treatment can depend on the applicable rate and trade value. Tax treatment is not guaranteed, and California rules may differ from general trade-in explanations. The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration explains that a trade-in allowance generally does not reduce the taxable selling price of a vehicle in California. Confirm how current rules apply to your specific transaction with the dealership or a qualified tax professional. Review California CDTFA guidance for motor vehicle dealers.

Important offer and transaction information

Online estimates are subject to physical inspection and current market data. The final offer, payment timing, and tax treatment may vary based on the vehicle, payoff, title status, inspection results, applicable taxes, and completed paperwork. A vehicle sale does not require you to purchase another vehicle from Fiesta Kia. Confirm transaction details with the dealership before accepting an offer.
